WOODEN ROBOT BREWERY Awarded Gold Medal at the Great American Beer Festival

Wooden Robot Brewery received a gold medal at the 2018 Great American Beer Festival (GABF) competition. Presented by the Brewers Association, GABF is the largest commercial beer competition in the world and recognizes the most outstanding beers produced in the United States. The top three winners in the competition’s 102 beer-style categories were announced September 22 at the Great American Beer Festival awards ceremony held at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver, Colorado. The 2018 GABF competition winners were selected by an international panel of 293 expert judges from 8,496 entries, received from 2,404 U.S. breweries, plus 101 Pro-Am and 49 Collaboration entries.

Wooden Robot Brewery was recognized in the Fruited Wood & Barrel Aged Sour beer-style category for its Rèserve Dorèe de Pêche ’18, a Sour Golden Ale aged in Chardonnay Barrels for 3 years, then re-fermented on Carolina Peaches. Wooden Robot is an Urban Farmhouse Brewery combining traditional methods of brewing with innovative techniques and ingredients. Focusing on conscientious brewing through sustainability and the use of high quality, locally sourced ingredients, their craft serves as a platform to support the growth of their local economy and community.

“It’s a huge honor to win a medal at GABF, and I am particularly excited to receive recognition for this beer, which has been aging almost the entire time we have been brewing beer” said Dan Wade, Head Brewer/CoOwner at Wooden Robot Brewery.
